What is a Wine Reduction

Simple Wine Reduction Sauce
1 cup wine
2 tablespoons butter
coarse salt to taste
chopped rosemary to taste

Heat wine in saucepan to boiling.  Reduce heat to simmer until wine has reduced to 1/2 cup.  This should take about 8 to 10 minutes.  Add butter and swirl.  Add salt and rosemary to taste.  Enjoy!
